On November 13th, our students visited Claflin University and S.C. State University. The purpose of the field study was to learn about the college application process and college life in general. Our students were given an informational session with a school recruiter and a tour guide who discussed key information about what most colleges are looking for in applicants. Topics covered ranged from GPA scores, SAT & ACT scores, writing letters of interest to the school, and various bridge programs that help students get into their school. During the Q & A session, our students asked many engaging questions, and left the session feeling empowered and focused. Students were able to tour the campuses and talk to other college students as well. By all accounts, our students had a great time.
