A few months ago, some boys were flipping bottles in Mrs. Waheed’s Science class. After telling them to stop, Mrs. Waheed offered the students an opportunity to flip bottles in class if they submitted a lab proposal. Jessica Bailey, an 8th grade student, worked tirelessly conducting personal research to single-handedly write a lab sheet for her peers to perform their experiment. Her research even included which water bottles would work best. Jessica brought in pre-marked bottles for the students to use, and on top of all that, she personally graded the lab reports against a rubric that she created. By all accounts, the lab was professionally designed and engaged all of the students. Way to go Jessica!
