On November 10th, E.L. Wright Science teacher Sophia Waheed presented at the South Carolina Science Council Conference. Her presentation, “How Do We Know What We Know” delved into some of the many misconceptions our students have about scientific topics and gave wonderful resources and examples with which to initiate these conversations in our classes, along with the importance of using critical thinking and reliable resources for information. With most of the seats taken, she received a round of applause at the end of her presentation. Way to go Ms. Waheed!
