I received my bachelor’s in Middle Childhood Education from Kent State University at Stark, and my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia. After graduating from Kent State, I subbed in Ohio for two years. I was then hired to teach Math here at E. L. Wright eight years ago. I now teach 7th grade Social Studies in the IB program. I wanted to become an educator, and specifically, in middle school, due to my own experiences. I felt that my middle school teachers lacked compassion and I was left behind in the chaos. I wanted to make changes and have a positive effect on my students. I live with my husband Mitch, and our three cats. We’ve made a few friends who have become like close family since moving to South Carolina, but our own families are in Ohio and Michigan. I love reading, writing, and baking.
