Faculty Spotlight: Katherine Templeton

I earned my undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Elementary Education, and a master’s degree in Education Administration from U.S.C. I taught at the Department of Juvenile Justice for seven years, and for the last 15 years at E.L. Wright! I have taught AVID, Math, Science and Social Studies, and I am currently the Lead Teacher for the LAW Magnet Program. While I started out wanting to be an elementary teacher, I have found my home in middle school, and I love the daily challenges that come with teaching at this level. I love helping students find their way during this crazy time of pre-teen and teen years. I have been married for almost 19 years to my high school sweetheart, and together, we have two active children. Emma who is a high school freshman and Smith, who is a sixth grader. They play several sports, are involved in church, and generally keep me very busy. I often feel like an Uber driver after school. We also have an adorable 70 pound Goldendoodle dog named Beezus, who is precious and is the easiest member of our family. I love spending time with my family…either at Clemson, watching Clemson football, at the beach, or generally relaxing. Go TIGERS!
